Jeff Eastin Didn’t Believe Us But Now USA Finally Renews ‘Graceland’ For Second Season
USA Networks took their sweet time making it official that Graceland would be getting a second season renewal with 13 episodes even though we reported it way back in June when we interviewed Brandon Jay McLaren. He sounded shocked when I congratulated him on it as I assumed he and Executive Producer Jeff Eastin would have know that. But you know how those networks can be in holding out information until the last minute or to just get some press to push the season finale numbers up higher.
With Burn Notice ending this week, the cabler loses one of its stronger shows, and they’re betting on Matt Nix’s latest medical drama Complications which has a pilot order now. Nix also wants to do a Burn Notice spinoff based around Sam Axe (Bruce Campbell) and Jesse Porter (Coby Bell).
"Jeff Eastin has once again delivered for USA Network. Graceland's brilliant serialized storytelling mixed with striking cinematography and a captivating ensemble cast has clearly resonated with a wide audience,” USA president Chris McCumber said. “We’re proud to be the home of summer’s top new cable drama and anticipate Graceland will be a long-term player for the network.”
