Glee Season 5 looks like it’ll be losing yet another castmember, and Samuel Larson is celebrating that freedom by shearing his dreadlocks which easily made him stand out in a crowd or even amongst the students of McKinley High.

The last time an actor did this was the famous Felicity haircut that shocked everyone. Most fans are quite happy with the new look, but even Larson has said that Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy liked the dreads, but  now that’s he’s been cut loose, he can do whatever he wants with it.

“‘I called my agent a year ago telling her I wanted to cut my hair because I thought it limited me too much. I wanted to try to get more mainstream roles, and she talked me out of it. I guess that [Glee co-creator] Ryan [Murphy] liked it and I’m okay with that, but I do look at keeping my hair as more of a burden.”

Many fans would disagree about the hair being such a burden (ask Whoopi Goldberg!), but with Glee over, he’s wanting to make sure to not get typecast with the look. Everyone’s favorite Glee member Chris Colfer is already having a great birthday as he and fellow cast member Lea Michele were both nominated for the 2013 Teen Choice Awards. Colfer’s is for Choice TV Actor in a Comedy.

The awards will air on Sunday, August 11 on FOX, and fans have from now until then tovote for their favorites at the Teen Choice Awards site. So Gleeks, let your voices be heard because it looks like Glee, Lea, and Chris have some stiff competition (even though they all won their respective categories at last year’s show). Glee is up against Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, and New Girl.

NBC finally put the show that everyone loved to hate Smash out of its misery, but it also axed Ryan Murphy’s The New Normal which had gotten some controversy before it even aired. The final episode of the the season felt like Murphy already knew that his somewhat autobiographical show would be cancelled. It was no surprise about Smash as it started out as a hit last season but then suddenly became just a confusing mess that you couldn’t stop watching. The second season was quickly moved to the Saturday night graveyard signalling the show was just going to get burned off with no coming back. It just proves that replacing a lot of moving parts doesn’t always fix the problem.

Glee’s Finn aka Cory Monteith is celebrating his 31st birthday style in great health and ready to get back with Rachel (Lea Michele) for Season 5 while she’s working her Broadway magic. USA Network’s Burn Notice may only have one season left but Jeffrey Donovan and Cory Bell have yet another thing in common, they share the same birthday too.

Fans may have missed seeing Monteith for Glee’s Season 4 finale, but he was getting back to his old self, and now he’s able to celebrate a great birthday. Below one of his many Finn fans have created a video special for his special day. Naturally we have a Finn photo spread below for all you fans.
