Just when you started jonesing for more Rupaul’s Drag Race, Season 5 is already upon us to get us through this winter blast! Thankfully, there’s no teams, just 14 new queens vying for that crown and Ru is promising more of the high drama we’ve come to expect and love from this show.

I wasn’t as crazy for the Rupaul’s Drag Race All Star Edition since they were forced into teams and stuck with them all season long, but hey, Chad Michael deserved to win. Thankfully, Ru is taking us back to what we love so much with 14 queens fighting for their crown and only occasionally thrown into a team situation. Harking back to Sharon Needles’ memorable name, one of Season 5’s queens is named Penny Tration which will probably get guest judge Latoya Jackson giggling.

Ru has already hinted that we can expect one major major feud to go down between the queens, and in a first for RuPaul’s Drag Race, two contestant will get involved in a relationship during the show. Last week we were all shocked that Sahara Davenport, RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant and boyfriend of one of our favorite queens Manila Luzon suddenly died from heart failure. Boyfriend Karl Westerberg aka Luzon shared some sweet memories of their six years together.
