Ryan Lochte showed that he does much better in the water than in the TV ratings war with his What Would Ryan Lochte Do? reality show. The 11-time Olympics medalist placed third twice this weekend in the 200 IM and the 200 backstroke. He seemed to be leading but all that energy faded in the final 50 meters. Lochte has just recently returned to training full time now that production on his show has wrapped. Since E! isn’t looking to renew the low rated show, he’ll have plenty of more training time leading up to the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Ryan Lochte is still trying hard to keep himself on the radar, but a source over at ABC’s The Bachelor thinks he’s more than worn out his welcome and refutes the Olympic swimmer’s claim that he turned both them and Dancing With the Stars down. Last week the swimmer turned cameo actor turned fashionista ruffled some feathers when he seemed to have forgotten that he had lobbied pretty hard to get onto both of the high rated reality shows.

Instead he stated at the E! Upfronts: “They asked me if I would [do The Bachelor] or Dancing with the Stars. And I was like, ‘Why don’t I just have my own reality TV show, and just put it all in there myself? Do it my own way.’”

Last September, our source over at The Bachelor had this to say about him. “ABC really wanted Ryan for The Bachelor knowing the ratings it could pull in, but after careful consideration, they felt that he might not be as interested in his housemates as our previous contestants. He should definitely do more shows like Project Runway since he seems more aimed at fashion style things. Dating shows might not be his bag.”

E! might have promoted Ryan Lochte’s new reality show ‘What Would Ryan Lochte Do?’, but even having it follow Ryan Seacrest interviewing the Kardashian family couldn’t save it’s premiere episode. As predicted, Lochte fever has dwindled and after over getting 807,000 viewers for it’s highly marketed debut this past Sunday, don’t expect the Kardashian network to be renewing it for a second season. It’s 11 PM encore pulled in another half million viewers, but we’re hearing that E! will see how the second episode does before deciding whether to quickly burn off the remainder.
