After a slightly disappointing All Stars Edition, RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 started off with a bang last week and just keeps on going! Here’s some of the highlight images along a guide for any queen on how to survive RuPaul’s show along with holding up under Michelle Visage and Santino Rice’s demanding eyes and quips.

Season 5 has quite the stellar cast and some really beautiful girls (so it’s a very ‘fishy’ season as they would say). Already we know who the dueling queens are and you know RuPaul’s Drag Race will capture this and build on the drama until it turns into a full out drag fight. Expect more high drama between Alyssa Edwards and Coco Montrese until we finally find out exactly what turned the former friends into bitter rivals. Sadly the queen with the standout name Penny Tration did the sashay last week, but the biggest surprise was to see how Sharon Needles boyfriend Alaska seemed on the brink of just giving up until he turned it out and trashed it up with a great outfit for the runway.

Just when you started jonesing for more Rupaul’s Drag Race, Season 5 is already upon us to get us through this winter blast! Thankfully, there’s no teams, just 14 new queens vying for that crown and Ru is promising more of the high drama we’ve come to expect and love from this show.

I wasn’t as crazy for the Rupaul’s Drag Race All Star Edition since they were forced into teams and stuck with them all season long, but hey, Chad Michael deserved to win. Thankfully, Ru is taking us back to what we love so much with 14 queens fighting for their crown and only occasionally thrown into a team situation. Harking back to Sharon Needles’ memorable name, one of Season 5’s queens is named Penny Tration which will probably get guest judge Latoya Jackson giggling.

Ru has already hinted that we can expect one major major feud to go down between the queens, and in a first for RuPaul’s Drag Race, two contestant will get involved in a relationship during the show.
